Ft. Lauderdale Praise & Coffee Night Reminder ~ 4/7/10

April 6, 2010 By: Melissa

We are just a day away from the Ft. Lauderdale Praise & Coffee Night and I have to tell you that I am nearly beside myself with excitement and anticipation.

It’s THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT, April 7th, from 7-9pm!
We’re meeting at the Coffee Scene located at 15955 Pines Blvd. in the Westfork Plaza off Pines/Dykes (954) 441-2364.
Have you ever wondered why you have the job that you have?
Why you live in the neighborhood you do?
How to prepare your heart to be content where you are?
Well…that’s what we will be talking about on Wednesday night…how to “Bloom Where You Are Planted“.
We’ll be having a beautiful time of worship with the incredibly talented Sarah Humbert, as well as an interview with a writer, Tami Sosa, who had her “story” shared in the “Chicken Soup for the Soul Devotional Stories for Women” Book.
Whatever you do, you don’t want to miss it!
Bring a girlfriend and enjoy a night out to be refreshed!
There’s no cost to you, unless you want to purchase one of the incredible coffee/desserts available at the Coffee Scene (their stuff is absolutely yummy!).
You don’t have to RSVP, but if you want to check out the Fan Page (on Facebook) you can click here.
I can’t wait to see you there!

South Florida Praise & Coffee Night Review

November 2, 2009 By: Melissa

Last Wednesday night we had our South Florida Praise & Coffee Night! If I tell you that it was awesome it just wouldn’t even begin to scrape the tip of how incredible the night was.

My dear friend, and bloggy buddy, Sue Cramer, founder of Praise And Coffee, flew down to speak at our event and also to visit for a few days. I have to just say that she is the REAL deal! She is exactly as she is online and her heart for women to connect to each other and to Him is evident in all she does.

We meet at a sweet little coffee house called “The Coffee Scene“! The owners, George & Launa, are so supportive to this ministry and make some of the BEST specialty coffee’s out there…and y’all know I am a HUGE Starbuck’s fan, so that is sayin’ a lot!

Sue & I took a few minutes to pose for some pics…we’ve been chatting and calling each other for two years but this was the VERY first time we were able to meet…God is so good!!! You should have seen us at the airport, we were jumping up and down while waving our arms frantically…like we won the lotto or something (it’s actually better I think!).

We were so totally blessed to have Sarah and Rebekah lead us in worship for the night. They lead us in five worship songs, which is always a beautiful experience. Seeing thirty women there raising their hands, bowing their heads, and singing their hearts out still brings tears to my eyes…it was so touching!

One of the best parts of the night was just connecting with other Christian women…laughing, crying, sharing, hugging, comforting, and just opening up our hearts to what He is doing in our lives. Sue brought a great message about how God can use anyone, that we are all His princesses, and even felt led to talk a bit about forgiveness. She met us right where we were and because of that we walked away changed!

There were no walls there that night…
no boundaries that held anyone back from connecting and growing with each other…
no need to fear about what others would think…
Just thirty women from five different churches getting together for a great night out!

If you are interested in hosting a Praise & Coffee Night in your area, then click here and Sue will send you some information. I’ve been hosting Praise & Coffee Nights for almost a year and a half and they have been such a blessing!

January Praise & Coffee Night Pics

January 16, 2009 By: Melissa

Last night we had our FIRST Praise & Coffee night in South Florida! I can’t even begin to tell you just how much fun it was and I can’t wait until we meet again on February 26th.

Yep, that’s right…we’re meeting again, so mark your calendars now for 2/26/09 from 7-9pm.

I wanted to show you a few pictures from our time of “renewal” last night. Come on in, sit back, and picture yourself there with us.
When you walk through the front door of “PIC ~ a Creative Chocolate & Art Cafe” this is what you see. The place is absolutely stunning and so well laid out.

Here’s one of my BFF’s (Jenn) waiting at the table to sign everyone in and give them a raffle ticket (oh yeah, we have prizes at Praise & Coffee Nights too).

Here’s Jenn, Patty, and myself…hamming it up for the camera! “PIC” is actually Patty’s dream and so we are thrilled to be able to walk alongside her in her ministry and support them as they chase after the dream that God has laid on their hearts.

Patty & her husband Rick just opened this place a couple of months ago and so graciously opened up for us to host our Praise & Coffee night there. They played Christian music over the sound system while we enjoyed our time hanging out together.

(Please pray for them and their business…we need more places like these around our town!)

Here’s Brenda, Noel, and Cayla chilling out on the couch. We had some of the BEST coffee while were there and the food was delicious too.

This is Kathy…she’s pondering the meaning of life…no, not really, but she looks pretty serious there until you realize she is sitting on a kiddie bench. Ha!

We just HAD to take a picture of this GIANT cupcake…it was incredible…no, we didn’t eat it, but we wanted to get as close to it as possible. Have you EVER seen a cupcake that big?

I have a GROUP picture that I am trying to upload (rather unsuccessfully right now) and will place here when I can. It was a great picture of all of us holding the GIANT cupcake and having fun (I hope it comes through).

Hey…if you live in the South Florida area and want to come hang out with us, we’d love to have you join us next time.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for NEXT MONTH, February 26th from 7-9pm.

Until then…Enjoy the Journey,

Drinking from my saucer…

November 20, 2008 By: Melissa

Drinking from my saucer…

I’ve never made a fortune, and it’s probably too late now.
But I don’t worry about that much, I’m happy anyhow
And as I go along life’s way,
I’m reaping better than I sowed.
I’m drinking from my saucer,
‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven’t got a lot of riches,
and sometimes the going’s tough
But I’ve got loving ones all around me,
and that makes me rich enough.
I thank GOD for his Blessings,
and the mercies HE’s bestowed.
I’m drinking from my saucer,
‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and the sun peeped through again.

So LORD, help me not to gripe,
about the tough rows I have hoed.
I’m drinking from my saucer,
‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

If GOD gives me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I’ll not ask for other blessings,
I’m already Blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I’ll keep drinking from my saucer,
‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

When I think of how many people in this world have it worse
than I do, I realize just how BLESSED WE really are.
We have the best, Our FATHER in Heaven!!!
